Weathervane Playhouse and WCLT T-100 Present “Sweet Charity”

Newark, OH.  Weathervane Playhouse and WCLT T-100 open the 2009 season with the feel-good musical “Sweet Charity”. Directed and Choreographed by 2008 Theatre Roundtable Award winner for Best Direction, Erika Twining. “Sweet Charity” is packed full of all-time great show-stopping numbers including Big Spender, If My Friends Could See Me Now and Rhythm of Life. “Sweet Charity” will perform June 4-13 at 8p.m. with a special ‘Two tickets for $26 Tuesday’ performance on Tuesday June 9 at 8.p.m. All performances are at Weathervane Playhouse 100 Price Rd, Newark, OH.  “Sweet Charity”,” written by Neil Simon, Music by Cy Coleman, Lyrics by Dorothy Fields, is about Charity Hope Valentine (played by Maggie Taylor of Granville), a lovelorn dance hall hostess, is a true original, an eternal optimist, and is in search of just one thing - happiness. But it seems the harder she searches the more difficult it is to find. Also featuring Granville Elementary’s Samantha Mastrian as Ursula, and the 2008 Theatre Roundtable award winner for Best Actor Morgan McCann as Vittorio. Charity will have you feelin’ good and wanting more. Performances are June 4,5, 6 and June 10,11,12,13. All performances are at 8p.m. Season tickets are on sale now!
