Newark, Ohio—Weathervane Playhouse, in collaboration with WCLT T-100, Sir Speedy and State Farm Insurance, are offering three spectacular discount performances. The special ticket price of two tickets for $26 is valid for the following special Tuesday performances “Sweet Charity” Tuesday June 9 at 8.p.m.,  “Into The Woods” Tuesday July 7 at 8p.m. and “Secret Garden” Tuesday August 4 at 8p.m. All ‘Two for Tuesday’ tickets are general admission. Weathervane’s 2009 Season opens with the feel-good musical Sweet Charity. Come meet Charity Hope Valentine, a lovelorn dance-hall hostess. She’s an eternal optimist in search of happiness. Join Charity on her misadventures as she shows us the rhythms and sounds of
New York in the 1960s. Originally directed and choreographed in 1966 by Bob Fosse, Sweet Charity is packed full of all-time great numbers like “Big Spender,” “If My Friends Could See Me Now” and “Rhythm of Life.” Special ticket price of two for $26 at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009. 

Into The Woods directed by Managing Artistic Director Matthew Trombetta. 

Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning musical combines the well-loved fairy tales of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel, with the tale of a childless baker and his wife, who catalyze the action of the story by attempting to reverse a curse on their family in order to have a child. Special ticket price of two for $26 at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009.

Secret Garden directed by Managing Artistic Director Matthew Trombetta.

The classic story of an orphan girl who finds life and happiness by tending “a bit of earth” has charmed children and adults alike for generations. This Tony Award-winning musical adaptation of the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett is a treat for the whole family, and features some of the most stunning melodies from Broadway’s recent past. Special ticket price of two for $26 at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009. 

Box Office hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 12p.m. to 6p.m. beginning May 26, 2009. The regular price for evening performances is $23 per ticket for adults, $21 for senior citizens and students and $15 for children under 12.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.weathervaneplayhouse.org.
